Clues in The Nervous System

Neurotransmitters

Nervous system controls and directs everything that goes on inside your body, from vital functions such as breathing and sleeping, to emotions and learning.  Therefore, it also directs your responses to the world around you. The nervous system accomplishes all of these functions using chemical signals called neurotransmitters.

What are neurotransmitters in charge of?

Serotonin: Mood, sleep, and appetite. It also supports a healthy immune response and GI function.
GABA: Mood. GABA is necessary to feel calm and relaxed.
Taurine : Proper heart function, healthy sleep, and calmness.
Glycine: Calmness and relaxation of the body.
Glutamate: The main stimulating neurotransmitter necessary for learning and memory.
Histamine: Sleep-wake cycle control; energy and motivation.
PEA: Focus, concentration, and energy.
Dopamine: Feelings of pleasure and satisfaction; also muscle function control.
Norepinephrine (noradrenaline): Mental focus, emotional stability, and adrenal/ stress response.
Epinephrine (adrenaline): Motivation, energy, mental focus, and stress response.
